Photography of the Lake District!

The Lake District. What a place it is, with its mountains and lakes, fells and forests. This was once my playground. In my youth I visited here often to climb and walk the high ridges like Scafell, Great Gable, Langdale Pike to name but a few. I would hitch from my home town of Stockton with pack on back and camp high in the mountains with just the stars and views that many could only dream of. It’s been a long time since I was here but now I have returned with camera in hand. I hope you like the views I am about to show you.

In the shadow of the Langdales..

Nestled in the shadow of Langdale Pikes is Elerwater. A favourite jumping off point for those visiting The Langdales and further along the valley my favourite watering hole. The old Dungeon Gill.

Ominous clouds gather over the Langdale pikes. Not a good day for a trek to the high ground. But even at low level the routes can be treacherous. Best stick to the valley today, I think, ......

Pitter patter, pitter patter

Pitter patter, pitter patter here comes the rain. And it did. Sometimes you just got to grin and bear it and take the shot while you can, even in the rain like this one on Ulswater. ......

The boat house..

This is probably the most photographed boat house in the Lakes. Its on Ulswater and now used as a holiday home. Not to disappoint what else could I do but take its picture. And I did manage to get a shot of the ducks too. ......
